In 2011, Caixa Geral de Depósitos Group was considered the “Most Sustainable Financial Group in Portugal”. The purpose of this award granted by the magazine 'The New Economy', in the scope of the 'The New Economy's Sustainable Finance Awards' initiative, is to recognise banks and financial institutions that demonstrate leadership and innovation, at an international level, in the integration of social, environmental and corporate criteria in their course of business.

In keeping to best practices focused on social and environmental responsibility, on the preservation of values related to citizenship and ethics in general, CGD enjoys enhanced recognition, considered a trusted brand by the Portuguese. It is also the bank brand with the best reputation in Portugal (35th in the world according to the Reputation Institute).

CGD´s path allows us to "See the future with different eyes" whilst looking back at the path taken with pride and responsibility, aware that the future is constructed with everyone.

On a global scale, sharing vulnerabilities is what we have in common – social, environmental and economic vulnerabilities. CGD, whilst managing resources and means at its disposal, can continue contributing to the construction of a better future for generations to come. This commitment is symbolised in a child's or other human being's gaze, to whose our good practices are not indifferent.
