In 2014, Bankia consolidated the Solidarity Network Project as one of its cornerstones for connecting its local development line and strategy for involving its employees in the bank’s social actions.

In this programme, it is the employees who detect and choose the charitable projects to support in their province. Part of the profits generated by their branch or area are earmarked for this project.

A total of 163 projects were supported in all of Spain, thanks to the results and fulfilment of objectives of the teams presenting the projects. The total Solidarity Network 2014 budget exceeded 1,229,000 euros. In addition, as a novelty, in 2014 the bank began to perform volunteer activities with the NGOs included in the Solidarity Network.
