Throughout 2013, Bankia made a great effort in the analysis and diagnosis of the energy situation of its office and building network. This analysis culminated, in 2014, in one of the bank’s most important projects, its 2015-2019 Energy Efficiency Plan.
With this Energy Efficiency Plan, Bankia set itself the challenge of reducing its power and fuel (natural gas and diesel) consumption by 19% with respect to consumption in 2013, the baseline reference year.
To guarantee its achievement, an investment of more than 10 million euros has been scheduled during the five years of the Plan. This investment will be aimed at, among other measures, the implementation of remote management at branches and office equipment, the renewal of air conditioning units or the development of internal awareness-raising campaigns, all of which implies comprehensive premises management, focusing on saving energy and money.
