Caixa Capital Risc is Caixabank’s management company which invests in the first stages of Spanish innovative companies, with a high potential in emerging economy sectors.
In 2012 Caixa Capital Risc created Caixa Innvierte Industria SCR in order to boost Spanish industrial SMEs. With this new financial instrument, Caixa Capital Risc manages four venture capital companies whose assets amount to 73 million euro:
- Caixa Capital Micro SCR (recently created micro-enterprises whose headquarters are in Spain)
- Caixa Capital BioMed SR C (life sciences)
- Caixa Capital TIC SCR (digital technologies)
- Caixa Innvierte Industria SCR (SME with a strong focus on technology and internationalisation)
Throughout 2012 Caixa Capital Risc has carried out 7 new investments in capital and 37 participative loans have been agreed. The total investment amount reaches 9.3 million euro.
Caixa Capital Risc has been awarded the National Prize of Innovation on Venture Capital by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness for a number of merits. Among them, the great volume of resources devoted to innovation support; the success reached through these entrepreneurial initiatives, and the promotion of strategic sectors for the new Spanish productive model.
