BCEE looks after the environment

With regards to the environmental dimension of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), Banque et Caisse d’ Epargne de l’Etat (BCEE) supports the sustainable development policy of its shareholder, the Luxembourg State, and the Environment Resolution of the European Savings Banks Group.
Since 2008, BCEE has marketed a wide range of low-interest loans to encourage more environmentally friendly investments:
  • EcoPrêt Logement and EcoPrêt Energie (loans to build or renovate homes according to the energy performance requirements necessary to be granted the related State subsidies),
  • EcoPrêt Auto (loan to buy environmentally friendly cars).

  • Long before then even, BCEE offered exceptional conditions for the financing of photovoltaic facilities. The firm's environmental commitment is particularly oriented towards its own buildings. For instance, in 2012, the new Grevenmacher Financial Centre was inaugurated: a low-energy building using renewables.

In 2009, BCEE's IT department was rewarded for its commitment towards the environment.

The Luxembourg Green Business Awards 2013 are designed to disseminate best practices and encourage emulation and recognition by Luxembourg leaders of the best Green solutions on the market. The main criteria used are innovation, strategy, environmental policy and sustainable products and investments, as well as official accreditations. To be a candidate, it is essential to show your commitment to your local environment and surroundings. The Green Facility Management Award 2013 was presented to BCEE for the efforts made by the firm to reduce energy, water and CO2 consumption in its buildings and to develop a multi-year global energy concept (heating/cooling systems).
